Maths Circle in London
This website is about a Math Circle (Club) run in North London for Years 5–7 (9–11 years old).
Plan for the academic year 2026/27:
- Age: Y5–Y7, mainly targeting Y5–Y6 (but stretch problems for Y7 are always available).
- Group size: 7–10.
- When: Saturdays 10am–12pm, term time only (~10 sessions/term).
- Where: Currently King Alfred School, NW11 7HY (we are not affiliated with the school).
- Who this is for: Children who like mathematics and want to explore it more deeply than they do at school.
- Cost: £220 for the autumn term = 11 sessions × £20 per session.
Goals
Potential goals children attending our club might have:
- Learn how mathematics can be fun, challenging, inspiring and exciting.
- Improve problem-solving skills (numerical, logical and spatial).
- Prepare for UK maths challenges like PMC (but this is not the main target – we teach a wider range of topics than needed for PMC).
- Spend time with other children who like mathematics.
